Patrice Scott's third and final solo EP of 2018 is packed to the rafters with high-grade material. Perhaps most notable is A-side "Movin It", a fluid, funk-fuelled affairs bristling with jazzy electric piano motifs, swinging, New Jersey garage influenced drums, liquid synth bass and some decidedly Larry Heard style musical flourishes. Over on side B, the long-serving Detroiter layers sumptuous jazz-funk synths and jazzy analogue bass over a sweaty deep house beat on "Come Inside", before showcasing his hip-hop style beat-making skills on the beautiful, deep-as-an-ocean head-nodder "Are You Conscious?".
